I figure she might have trained in her spare time but probably not full-time. She can kick ass without the Force though (so yes we should see that...I hope).

Jj said that she turned away from it, it was a personal choice that she felt she had to make to help the resistance be one organized to fight the first order, she regrets it at times but felt it was the greater good. And she can feel some things as we see but I don think she can use any physical manipulation but we will see
