I am. Because Rey is not a Mary Sue.

Everything she does makes sense. She's a good fighter because she had a rough life on Jakku. She's a good pilot because what force adept has ever not been a good pilot? She beat Kylo Ren because he was seriously injured. She mind tricked that stormtrooper because she's the main character and is meant to be strong in the force (and also because she learned how in the previous scene when Kylo tried it on her). And she knows about the Falcon's internals because she's been digging around in spaceships her entire young adult life.
I'll add that the only reason she beat Kylo wasn't because he was injured, it's also because she's just clearly better at the force than he is. He's trying to bend it to do what he wants it to do. He punches his would to get himself hurt and angry so he can be more powerful, whereas she closes her eyes and lets the force do its thing. I kind of thought that was always the point about the force: the dark side isn't more powerful at all.

I'm going to quote what I said on the JC:
I would just like to point out that we never have this "Mary Sue" conversation about Luke or Anakin (in TPM when he literally defeats the trade federation by luck) or Captain America or Superman or Frodo. (Some of them are Mary Sues, some of them aren't, but don't pretend like it's a serious conversation that's been had.) This standard of measurement is unique to female heroines and, imho, is steeped in misogyny. When people say "that female character doesn't have enough flaws," I hear, "no woman could be that good." Have we forgotten that Star Wars is meant to be mythic, legendary? Yes, I believe that Rey can fly the Falcon, fix the Falcon, look at home in the pilot's seat of the Falcon, and even gets some hits in against Kylo Ren. It's nothing any male character in the series hasn't done before.

No one is crying that Finn wasn't immediately struck down, for instance, when he fought Ren.

It's like the first Rocky movie. Rey didn't win, but she went the distance!

I was just talking to CTT about this and he said unless she is being used as some sort of wish fulfillment by the writers which is not the case here.
